COTA 2017 Formula1 – The British Driver Lewis Hamilton US Grand Prix Victory

The British driver “Lewis Hamilton” delivered a flawless drive to claim his sixth Formula 1 USGP win, the 62nd of his career and the fifth from six outings at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas at the US Grand Prix.  The USGP took “Lewis Hamilton” closer to his fourth Drivers’ World Championship. The winning handed the Mercedes driver a 66 point championship lead over title rival “Sebastian Vettel.” The three-time World Champion has worn the winner’s Stetson on the podium on four occasions. He and the Mercedes team has been unbeaten at the Circuit of the Americas since 2013. The 3.4-mile track at the Circuit of the Americas is a modern venue designed by “Hermann Tilke,” and is widely recognized as one of the best racetracks. The United States Grand Prix track is perfect for “Hamilton” and he enjoys the American dream. “Hamilton” should not lose more than 16 points over the Ferrari driver this coming weekend during the 2017 Formula One Grand Premio de Mexico from Oct 27th-29th.

In the USGP 2017, “Hamilton” finished first with “Vettel” behind him while “Max Verstappen” of Red Bull rounded out the podium spots. “Sebastian Vettel” of Ferrari is the closest driver to earn the Championship. “Hamilton” needed to finish 16 points clear of “Vettel” to clinch the championship on Sunday, but it didn’t happen, so “Vettel” will still be in the running going into the next race. The Mexican GP is going to be on fire this coming weekend.

Formula 1 turned the Circuit of the Americas “Pink” in support of ‘Drive the CureBreast Cancer Awareness month.  Drivers, teams, partners, broadcasters and the FIA all showed their support by incorporating the color pink, from race shirts to striped tires, gloves and boots, podium caps, and exclusive podium champagne ‘Champagne CarbonF1 Official Champagne.

The race was full of fun entertainment, on and off the track. The 94-minute race was full of action. “Vettel” took the lead with a bold move past pole position and it took six laps for Hamilton to regain his starting position thanks to a car which had the edge over any of its rivals throughout the whole weekend. The Mercedes driver was always in control, even when he reacted to the undercut attempt made by “Vettel” in the first round of pit-stops.

The afternoon’s excitement began with a stunning pre-race build-up featuring a unique presentation of the drivers by legendary sports announcer “Michael Buffer” and multiple Olympic gold medal winner “Usain Bolt” waving the green flag to start the formation lap. Formula 1 driver “Lewis Hamilton” took “Usain Bolt” for a stunt ride in a $200,000 Mercedes. The sprint legend interviewed race winner “Hamilton,” second-placed Vettel and third-placed Ferrari team-mate “Kimi Räikkönen,” in a star-studded ceremony that saw the 42nd President of the United States, “Bill Clinton,” hand over the trophy to the winning driver. When “Bolt” interviewed “Hamilton” after the race, he said: “What a beautiful day. I love this track and I think it is now my favorite, to be honest,” he told the crowd afterward he even a yelled the Texas expression “yee-haw!

“Lewis Hamilton” enjoyed the Austin Texas weather that turned out wonderful after a rainstorm on Sunday morning made the conditions ideal for the race. “Hamilton” embraces the American lifestyle and seems to be bonded well with the Circuit of America’s track.

The Formula One’s new American owners “Liberty Media” realize that the United States is the biggest unconquered frontier for one of the most influential and compelling motorsports enterprise in the world. The glamour, prestige, and enchantment that comes along with the F1 race courses in Monaco, Abu Dhabi, Great Britain, Brazil, and Singapore are always mind-blowing and sensational. The United States has one of the best tracks and one of the best pits compared to the other circuits; in addition,  it brings a Super Bowl like festival atmosphere to the F1 races at COTA by headlining major musical acts like last year’s “Taylor Swift” (2016) and this year’s “Justin Timberlake” and “Stevie Wonder” (2017). The “Circuit of the America” is attracting the attention of new F1 fans and the use of social media and digital offerings is engaging millennials as one of the next generation of F1 lovers.
